  5. . A personalized FORM letter is simply a FORM as far as INFO-BASE is con-       
  6. . cerned -- another template or way of viewing the DATABASE.   However, there   
  7. . are print commands that allow for text re-adjustment.  First note that  any   
  8. . line beginning with a period (".") is a non-print line and unless it contains 
  9. . a print command it is ignored by the print routine.  Print commands are       
  10. . in columns two and three preceded by a period (e.,g. ".pa" in columns         
  11. . 1 to 3 tells INFO-BASE to space to the next page).

  21. .ll 44  Note the Γ causes all preceding blanks to be  eliminated after the      
  22. .       DATA FIELDS have been filled in.  Initially  formatting is off, else-   
  23. .       wise the line would be re-adjusted to its original length.  The command 
  24. .       ".ll 44" limits the print line to the first 44 columns which            
  25. .       prevents "Company Name..City/State Zip" from being printed.

  27. .       ".ad 3" adjusts all print to the right by 3 spaces

  44. INFO-BASE can be used in any  application which  uses  forms, and  needs        
  45.                                                                                 
  46. to  solve  the  problem  of   data   redundancy.   For instance, if  you        
  47.                                                                                 
  48. already  have  a customer file  that  includes  name, address,  discount        
  49.                                                                                 
  50. available, etc.,  then  an  invoice  data base can be created and rather        
  51.                                                                                 
  52. than re-entering the data for each  invoice, it can  be  extracted  from        
  53.                                                                                 
  54. the customer  file.  Other applications include:  insurance  forms, real        
  55.                                                                                 
  56. estate multi-list agreements, income  tax  forms  etc.   Please  let  me

  60. .   Note FIELDS can be imbedded in non-printing lines, which  makes  it         
  61. .   easy to create  extremely personal letters (see Post script below).

  75. .   You can individually print out letters (one RECORD at a time) or all of the 
  76. .   RECORDS by pressing Ctrl P (^P).  You will be prompted  for printing        
  77. .   the current RECORD or all RECORDS, and/or whether you want just the DATA or 
  78. .   both the DATA and the TEXT prompts.  After you have finished with this      
  79. .   FORM press Ctrl O (^O) and enter "LABELD" in response to the FORM name      
  80. .   request.
